Europa League: Tottenham crush Inter at White Hart Lane
Gareth Bale put on another shining display and scored yet another goal to put Tottenham ahead their Europa League last-16 tie against Inter Milan. This time Bale scored with a header from Gylfi Sigurdsson's cross early on but he will not play in the second leg as he was handed his fourth yellow card of the season. Then Sigurdsson scored one himself from close range after Jermain Defoe's shot was parried. Defender Jan Vertonghen wrapped up the proceedings with a third goal as he headed home from Bale's corner kick cross. Tottenham were impressive during the opening stages of the match, scored the first goal through Bale after just six minutes and then continued to push Inter against the ropes. The second goal came on 17 minutes, a deserved one for Sigurdsson who has played a very good match. The Icelandic midfielder created another chance later on for Vertonghen but his header was tipped over before Gareth Bale headed one wide. Inter had the first decent chance just before the interval but Ricardo Alvarez fired wide after being set up brilliantly by Antonio Cassano. Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen was unable to find the back of the net from a Bale free kick but he did that later when he headed home on a corner kick cross from the Welshman. Bale could have scored another minutes later while Defoe was denied by a good save from Handanovic. Aaron Lennon also had a chance to score the fourth goal but was blocked by the keeper. Inter had the final chance of the match but goalkeeper Brad Friedel did well to race out and block Rodrigo Palacio. Tottenham have a big league game coming up on Sunday as they travel to face Liverpool at Anfield road, here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Liverpool win - 10/11 Draw - 14/5 Tottenham win - 16/5
