Betfair Cancels Sponsorship of Bayer Leverkusen

News broke this week that Betfair has cancelled its sponsorship contract with German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. It has been specified that the sponsorship deal, reached in June 2012 for a two-year period, has been abandoned under mutual consent by both parties. The reasons for the cancellation of partnership have not been disclosed, however, it is being speculated that it has probably been triggered by new gambling regulations that imposed a five percent tax on all sportsbetting stakes.
