PMU Enters Partnership Agreement with Spanish Horserace Course
A partnership agreement has been closed recently between Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) and La Sociedad Hipódromos y Apuestas de Euskadi (HAHE), thanks to which the second biggest horserace course in Spain Hipódromo de San Sebastián will offer online betting. In addition, PMU has closed another partnership agreement with HAHE-owned Apuesta Ganador Online, s.a. (AGOSA) to provide online horseracing totalisator betting in Spain, for which AGOSA has reportedly already submitted a license application to the Spanish gambling authority (DGOJ). According to a PMU spokesperson, "This agreement is a confirmation of our fruitful collaboration with HAHE and our experience in the French market combining online and offline betting encourages us to confidently launch this project." It was added by Miguel Ortiz-Cañavate, group president and majority shareholder Nervión HAHE and AGOSA: "Since we took over the Hipódromo de San Sebastián, with 96 years of history in the equestrian world, PMU has been our management benchmark in racing and betting; closer relations with PMU will enable us to learn from their experience in developing on and off-line equestrian betting in Spain. It is a motivator for the group and will undoubtedly prove very beneficial to the industry in Spain".
