Aunt and Uncle of San Francisco 49ers Player, Delanie Walker, Killed by Drunk Driver


San Francisco 49ers tight end Delanie Walker lost his aunt and uncle in a tragic accident. The two were hit by a drunk driver not long after watching as San Fran won the Super Bowl XLVII. The accident occurred approximately at 5:30am Monday morning.

Walker expressed his feeling on Twitter Wednesday and tweeted: "Alice and bryan young my aunt and uncle was killed on Monday at 5 am after the super bowl by a drunk driver... We lost some good people they will be missed i love y'all so much. Im going to miss y'all but i know they are in a better place.'

Nechole Thomas, 26, has been accused of being intoxicated and driving "at a high rate of speed" when she collided with their 2012 Nissan Altima. The pair were off to the side on the shoulder of the road said state police. Upon impact both cars ignited.

The New Orleans state police have stated that the incident is under investigation and they are awaiting information from the autopsies in order to verify the identities of the bodies.

Thomas is being charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, DWI and reckless operation.
