Man Dies While Attempting to Rob Betting Shop
In one among many armed robbery attempts on High Street betting shops in the UK, one man died when he entered a Plymouth bookie shop armed with a handgun and wearing a gasmask, only to be stopped by the punters who were wagering their monies in the shop at the time. Apparently, he was disarmed by the punters immediately, and then they held him down until police arrived – unfortunately, by that time things had already taken a tragic turn, as he went unconscious, and shortly thereafter he died from causes that aren't known at present. According to a police spokesman, when the man entered the shop, he was "immediately tackled" by customers and "held down still wearing his gas mask". Once the police arrived, they tried to resuscitate the man until paramedics arrived but in vain, as he was declared dead about 20 minutes later. Cause of death is still under investigation, he specified.
