Chip Kelly Moves to NFL

Chip Kelly Moves to NFL
Just over one week ago, we saw Chip Kelly decide to remain with the No. 2 Ducks but it now seems that the University of Oregon college team will have to go forward without him. Kelly has accepted an NFL job as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelly announced his change of heart to Oregon on Wednesday morning just before an official statement was released from the Eagles. Following Oregon's success in the Fiesta Bowl, Kelly had his eye on three NFL teams including Philadelphia, Cleveland and Buffalo. There was plenty of speculation surrounding what move Kelly would make but he told the Ducks he would remain with them. Rob Mullens, athletic director for the Ducks, told the media that he was "ecstatic" about Kelly's move into the NFL but Kelly had not yet made a public statement. The University of Oregon posted a statement from Mullens on their website which reads: "I have great respect for Chip, consider him a friend and wish him the best of luck in the NFL. Oregon Athletics has executed two successful head coach transitions in the past eighteen years and each time we continued our ascent. We are focused on identifying a leader who is the right fit to guide Oregon Football.”
