Earlier this week, ITV Sport decided to exclude William Hill's TV advert from its FA Cup football program due to the fact that the add is featuring Robbie Savage, a BBC betting specialist nicknamed Mr. Marmite for his ability to create divided opinions.
Though William Hill is a sponsor of ITV's FA Cup coverage, the disputable ad was rejected by the TV broadcaster on the grounds that hiring a BBC's expert for an advertisement took 'ambush publicity' a step too far. Willam Hill marketing team agreed to review the situation and make required changes for the third-round games, The Daily Mail reports.
"We're in discussion with ITV regarding the editorial content of our new sponsorship. This is a normal process within the terms of our deal," a William Hill spokesperson told the newspaper.
