Paddy Power PLC Makes New Senior Management Appointments
The latest senior management changes at Irish land and online gambling group Paddy Power plc caused by the intended retirement of Jimmy Mangan, Head of Irish Retail and Dial-a-Bet operations, scheduled for July 2013 involve management of retail operations in the UK and Ireland, which will be led by Head of UK Retail, Andy McCue. It is believed in the company this way it will be easier for it to leverage the scale of its retail platforms in both regions. In addition to this, the company will have new Head of Irish Retail in shape of Charlie Kelly, who joined the group in 1999 as financial accountant and company secretary and advanced to his current role as Head of Retail Operations in Ireland. Also, the novelties involve the appointment of Dan Thomson as Head of UK Retail. The changes triggered a comment from Paddy Power CEO, Patrick Kennedy, who said: "Andy has delivered outstanding results with the team in UK Retail since 2006 and brings extensive strategic and operational expertise to this broader role, while Dan's experience positions him very well for the continued development of the UK Retail business. Charlie will leverage his broad experience in Retail to drive the business forward. I believe these appointments will further strengthen and support the Group's growth. "Jimmy Mangan has provided unique leadership to both the Irish Retail business and the broader group for 24 years. Put simply, without Jimmy, Paddy Power would not be what it is today. We thank him for his exceptional contribution and commitment."
