Another Advertising Dispute for William Hill
History repeated is what the latest issue encountered by a William Hill plc advertisement could be called – once again, the company has come face to face with Britain's Advertising Standards Authority over three of its sports betting ads and website claims. Namely, based on a public complaint, the advertisements were accused of misleading punters with boasts regarding the group's information on odds during various events. According to one complainant, the website ads could not be substantiated because better prices were available from other bookies. These complaints have been upheld by the ASA. The two ads in question are featured on the company's sports site, and the complaints also include a TV ad. The problematic area of the ads is when one of them proclaims: "Best prices on the best horses - bet now", whilst another claimed "Euro 2012 best prices on the best teams. The television presentation targeted text betting and claimed: "Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK & Irish Horse racing.”
