News came this week that Sportech PLC's division Sportech Racing is expanding in the Latin American market with a new deal that will see it provide its Quantum System pari-mutuel wagering software and a customised internet betting platform to Chilean thoroughbred racetracks Club Hipico de Santiago and Sociedad Hipodromo Chile.
Based on the deal, Chile will get wagering operations along with totalizator services to an additional three racetracks - Valparaiso Sporting Club, Club Hipico de Antofagasta and Club Hipico de Concepcion. As a result, thanks to Sportech's interactive wagering platform that includes an Interactive Voice Response phone wagering system and a customized Internet wagering website, racetracks will be able to extend online pari-mutuel wagering, information and unified account management services and reach more players in Chile, offering them access to account wagering and services at the racetracks and off-track betting locations, as well as over the Internet or via telephone, all accessible via a single wagering account.
