Update: Sentencing Pronounced to Staten Island Betting Ringleader
This week, the ringleader of the betting scheme broken when US Federal forces conducted an action in which they arrested 28 men in Staten Island, New Jersey and Pennsylvania was sentenced to six months in prison and five years of probation. In addition to this, Joseph Stentella (57) lost all of his surrendered assets which were valued in total to $5.7 million in assets, three homes, a rental property in Costa Rica and 14 classic cars, as well as $50 000 in cash. Prior to this, his son, Anthony Stentella (30) was sentenced to five years of probation. It is estimated that some 600 people used Stentella's scheme to place bets, earning it some $100 000 a week, and more during football season.
