Arsenal snatch a point at defending champions Manchester City
Laurent Koscielny scored a late equaliser as Arsenal fought back to grab a deserved point after a spectacular match against Manchester City. The French defender found the back of the net nine minutes from time, blazing it in from close range after City defender Joleon Lescott had failed to clear a corner kick cross. City had taken the lead minutes before half time when Joleon Lescott headed in David Silva's corner. Both clubs remain unbeaten in the league this season and both have eight points from five matches. Wenger's team, led by Abou Diaby and Santi Cazorla, was the side that dictated the tempo of the game during the first half but they failed to capitalise on their better ball possession. Gervinho had a great chance on 16 minutes when Arteta's pass sent him clear of the defence but the Ivorian winger's first touch was disappointing and Joe Hart rushed out to block him. Gervinho then fired one into the side netting while Sergio Aguero replied for Manchester City with a saved shot. The home side took the lead on 40 minutes on a corner kick as Arsenal goalie Vito Mannone totally missed the ball, allowing Lescott to head home. The goalie made up for his error a few minutes later though as he tipped a fierce shot from Dzeko over the bar. Arsenal started their fightback afer the break and Cazorla was denied by stunning save from Joe Hart before finally getting their reward as Koscielny found the net. Vincent Kompany almost restored the lead moments later with a spectacular overhead kick while Gervinho might have won it for Arsenal during injury time, but his shot went high and wide. Bet365 have Man City at 7/4 to defend their Premier League title, while Arsenal are priced at 9/1 to win the Premier League this season.
