Terrell Owens has been back in the NFL for nearly three week and he was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday as part of roster reductions. The team has gone from 90 to 75 players.
Other players released from the Seahawks were Phil Bates, running back Tyrell Sutton, cornerbacks Ron Parker and Donny Lisowski and offensive lineman Edawn Coughman.
Owens let the cat out of the bag on Twitter while the Seahawks made the official announcement late on Sunday afternoon.
Owens Tweeted: ''I'm no longer a Seahawk. I THANK the organization 4 the opportunity, I'm truly blessed beyond belief. My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver.''
Owens had not played in an NFL game for 18 months. He had just signed on with the Seahawks on August 7th for a year.
He made the team just prior to their first preseason game and made his debut in week 2 against Denver.
He was a bit rusty and showed in his performance on the field.
''I've been rehabbing and working out for the past year since the injury and that's all I've ever wanted since I've been out is another opportunity,'' said Owens after practice on August 8th. ''That has been given to me by the Seattle Seahawks and again I am very grateful for that.''
