Fantasy Football Sponsorship Deal for Betway
Mirror Fantasy Football gets a sponsor In the next three years, Trinity Mirror's Fantasy Football platform will benefit from the sponsorship of a European online betting company Betway, thanks to a deal the two companies closed. Betway, to whom the partnership is part of a substantial UK wide media campaign, will see the Mirror Fantasy Football branded with its logo and make special promotional offers to players, including registering their first team completely free. Furthermore, players will stand a chance at winning one of the great prizes from the GBP100,000 prize pool, whose prizes range from GBP 500 to GBP 25,000. Also, they'll be able to add another four teams for every GBP 10 bet placed with Betway, and get an extra free team every month if they're registered users. This is the first big UK sponsorship deal for Betway, which will complement its campaign that represents the first step in the company's UK expansion initiative, conveniently timed for the start of the football season. Also, based on the deal, the users of Trinity Mirror's newspaper websites, which include Mirror Online, Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, Newcastle Chronicle, Birmingham Mail and Wales Online, will gain direct access to Betway's online betting services. According to Richard Akitt, managing director of Betway Group, “We believe we have the fastest, most innovative and easy-to-use fantasy football game in the market. Our site enables customers to update their fantasy football team and place bets all within the same site. In addition, for the first time it is possible for players to create their first team for free. “We are planning a series of high profile promotions over the coming months that will engage the football fans and punters." On the other side, Chris Ellis, managing director, Trinity Mirror Digital, added: “This partnership further demonstrates our on-going commitment to produce and develop premium digital products.”
