And Tottenham FC partners with Betfred
After a sponsorship deal closed between Manchester United and Bwin.Party, another UK football club, Everton gained itself an online gambling sponsor - Irish bookie Paddy Power.
The deal will see Paddy Power become the football club's online betting partner across the UK and Ireland for two years, during which it will be offering its betting products through the official Everton FC website.
In addition, on its site, the Irish bookie will host unique team pages through which fans will be able to sign up and receive additional betting offers related to the club.
According to Dave Biggar, commercial director at Everton Football Club, “Paddy Power has a fantastic track record in football and we look forward to being part of their portfolio.”
In related news, an announcement came from another online gambling site, Betfred, that it has closed a sponsorship deal which makes it the official UK betting partner of Tottenham Hotspur.
The deal has been sealed for a period of three years, and it gives Betfred exclusive UK branding rights across Tottenham's online, digital, mobile and social media platforms.
“Tottenham Hotspur is a massive, globally recognised brand and I'm very confident our newly established partnership with them will reap huge rewards for our business," said Rakesh Chablani, Betfred commercial director.
It was added by Tracey Keenan, head of global partnerships at Tottenham Hotspur: “We are looking forward to working in partnership over the course of the next three years to deliver a number of exciting and engaging consumer campaigns, which will help drive Betfred's UK business.”
Finally, another UK football club earned new sponsors - Liverpool FC has signed two deals, one with Paddy Power for the UK, Ireland and Italy and another with 118BET for the rest of the world.
