International expansion gets reinforcement
An announcement has arrived this week that UK bookmaker William Hill has engaged an external social media and public relations firm based in London, "Lexis - the recommendation agency", which will from now on be in charge of the company's promotion in other markets during its international expansion.
It has been stated by Kate Miller, public relations manager at William Hill: "Social media have become more and more important with sports fans and others, as you can tell from the Olympics. For example, Twitter is a recognised comms stream now, and for us it's about working to make the best of the content we're producing. The internet and social media allow us the opportunity to promote to other markets as we expand internationally, and tailor our content to various different marketplaces."
This is a three-month project supported by Lexis' senior associate director Gareth Griffiths, and it represents an expansion on the agency's William Hill Greyhound Derby project, conducted earlier this year.
