No More Televised Football Rights for Perform
Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1 no longer on WatchAndBet's .tv site An announcement came this week from British digital sports media specialist Perform that it will not be renewing the television rights for the broadcast of the next season of Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1 content on its WatchAndBet online television service. It was explained that the decision was made because the service already carries around 13,000 live events 24/7, and that they are preparing more new content. These probably include some 650 Asian football matches a year for the next five years, thanks to the renewed content agreement the company has nailed in the market. 'The content costs saved by this decision will be allocated to the acquisition of new rights across the business,' the company said in its statement, and Perform's joint CEO Oliver Slipper added: 'Our focus is to provide content to our customers 24-hours a day, 365 days a year and this Asian football renewal and recent rights deals with the WTA, Wimbledon and South American football shows our commitment to this.'
