LVS Upgrades its CMS System and “Apollo” Website
Each component will be customer “brandable” A new version of both "Apollo" website and the content management system has been announced by online betting software provider LVS owned by La Française Des Jeux, to allow licencees more direct control over content and enable a visually less generic and more tailored offering. The main advantage of the upgraded front-end framework is the opportunity for customers to create websites from a growing library of individual components which are interchangeable within the framework and supported by the same content management system (CMS). Furthermore, each component is customer “brandable”, allowing easy inclusion and removal of components by a drag and drop function enabling non-technical staff to control content easily. CMS also allows the operator more control over tabs and footer links and generic content such as terms and conditions. It includes the following key features: - Ability to upload images, flash content or HTML into advertising and other user defined components - Full access control with each operator have defined privilege levels to control the content which they can control - Publish start and expiry dates. Components can automatically swap in and out without operator interaction - Full multi-website and multi-language support. “Each website can now have unique functionality and appears to end players as though fully bespoke to the operator, but at the same time many areas can still be built from standard components to save time and cost,“ said Ron Regan, sales & marketing director for LVS. The software company uses an open source web application framework called Ruby on Rails (RoR) to boost the speed and ease with which database-driven web sites can be produced. Commenting on the latest developments, Regan concluded: “Everything is written using Ruby on Rails. These components have no dependency at all on flash and therefore run perfectly on iPad, iPhone etc.“
