The two teams are tied at the top of the table on four points each, so a victory or even a high-scoring draw will be enough to secure them a place in the quarter finals. However, neither of the two are assured of reaching the last eight.
Here are the probable line ups:
Pletikosa - Srna, Corluka, Schildenfeld, Strinic - Vukojevic, Rakitic - Mandzukic, Modric, Perisic - Jelavic
Casillas - Arbeloa, Ramos, Pique, Alba - Busquets, Alonso - Silva, Xavi, Iniesta - Torres
Croatia might start with a 4-2-3-1 setup, the module which allowed them to fight back and get a 1-1 draw against Italy. There is a problem though as Everton striker Nikica Jelavic missed training on Saturday with a fever. The striker could recover in time for the match against Spain but his fitness remains to be tested.
The Spanish are coming from a morale-boosting victory over Republic of Ireland, 4-0, and are likely to field an identical starting eleven. However, coach Vicente del Bosque might choose to leave out Xabi Alonso, Alvaro Arbeloa and Fernando Torres who all are on yellow cards and could miss the last-eight clash if they pick up another booking. They still have to qualify for the quarter finals though. Juan Mata and Fernando Llorente are in line for their first minutes on the pitch at Euro 2012 but they might be starting on the bench.
Here are the match odds from Bet365:
Croatia - 7/1
Draw - 19/10
Spain - 8/11
