The French emerged victorious when these two sides met in their opening fixture in Euro 2004. That was eight years ago and things are not looking bright for either of the two sides, especially because of injuries.
Here are the probable line ups:
Lloris - Debuchy, Rami, Mexes, Evra - Cabaye, Diarra - Nasri, Malouda, Ribery - Benzema
Hart - Johnson, Terry, Lescott, Cole - Milner, Gerrard, Parker, Downing - Young - Carroll
France coach Laurent Blanc will probably keep midfielder Yann M'Vila on the bench due to fitness problems with Alou Diarra and Blaise Matuidi having recovered from respective knee and hamstring injuries.
M'Vila has been dealing with a thigh injury but there are no other problems adding to Loic Remy's who dropped out of the squad with a thigh problem. Karim Benzema be France's spearhead, while Philippe Mexes or Laurent Koscielny will team up with Rami at the heart of the defence.
Problems have been a common occurrence for Roy Hodgson's side. However, John Terry has recovered following a hamstring complaint and should start alongside Joleon Lescott in defence. In attack Hodgson will have to pick between Andy Carroll and Danny Welbeck since Wayne Rooney is suspended. James Milner is almost certain to start on the right flank, while Stewart Downing could be the starting man on the opposite wing.
Here are the match odds fom William Hill:
France to win - 6/4
Draw - 19/10
England to win - 11/5
