Holland and Denmark face off for the second major tournament running, with the Dutch hoping to repeat the result of their 2010 World Cup opener. The last meeting between the Dutch and the Danes was in their opening game at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, which the Netherlands won 2-0.
Here are the probable line-ups for today's game:
Stekelenburg - Van der Wiel, Heitinga, Bouma, Willems - De Jong, Van Bommel - Robben, Sneijder, Afellay - Van Persie
Andersen - Jacobsen, Kjaer, Agger, S Poulsen - C Poulsen, Kvist - Rommedahl, Eriksen, Krohn-Dehli - Bendtner
Netherlands defender Joris Mathijsen will probably miss the game as he is unlikely to recover from his hamstring injury. Wilfred Bouma will probably get that slot in the center of the defence. Robin van Persie will be the lone striker with Hutelaar ready to come in from the bench.
Denmark, the 1992 European champions, lost midfielder Niki Zimling to injury and will probably bring in veteran Christian Pulsen to replace him. Except that change, coach Morten Olsen will most likely name the same team that defeated Australia 2-0 in a friendly in Copenhagen just before the final tournament.
Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner will start in the lone striking role, with support from Ajax rising star Christian Eriksen.
Here are the odds from WilliamHillSportsbook:
Holland to win - 8/11
Draw - 23/10
Denmark to win - 9/2
