Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portuguese teammates will be seeking revenge against Germany for their elimination in the quarter finals four years ago. The Germans beat Portugal 3-2 at the quarter-final stage of Euro 2008, before a 1-0 final defeat by Spain.
Here are the probable line-ups for Saturday's game:
Neuer - Boateng, Mertesacker, Badstuber, Lahm - Khedira, Schweinsteiger - Muller, Ozil, Podolski - Klose
Rui Patricio - Pereira, Pepe, Alves, Coentrao - Meireles, Veloso, Moutinho - Nani, Postiga, Ronaldo
Germany are expected to have a clean bill of health before Saturday's clash with Portugal in Lviv. Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger had some problems as he didn't play in any of the friendlies before Euro 2012 due to a calf problem the Germany staff declared him fit now and he will probably regain his place in the middle of the park.
Captain Philipp Lahm will be the team's left-back, with Jerome Boateng probably getting the full back spot on the opposite flank. That right flank is very important for the Germans as that's where Cristiano Ronaldo will be trying to make a difference for Portugal.
Portugal coach Paulo Bento will probably field new Valencia signing Joao Pereira at right-back, while Helder Postiga should get a place in the attacking trio.
Winger Nani has picked up a slight foot injury in the 3-1 friendly defeat against Turkey last Saturday but has recovered and will team up with Ronaldo and Postiga in attack.
Here are the odds from WilliamHillSportsbook:
