Spanish License for SportingBet
Miapuesta to continue trading This week, SportingBet has seen a lot of business success, obtaining the Spanish eGaming license by meeting all the requirements set by the Spanish licensing authority; agreeing the payment of Euro 14 million in back tax and surcharges; and a further Euro 3.2 million in interest. Thanks to all these arrangements, the company's Spanish-oriented Miapuesta website has seen parts of an injunction imposed on it in March of this year fall away, so the trading will resume as soon as the market formally opens on June 5. It has been specified by the company that other issues of the injunction will be addressed with an application to the Commercial Court in Madrid, which the company will seek to have cancelled.
