Former NBA Star, Dennis Rodman, Behind on Child Support
Former NBA star Dennis Rodman, was given 104 hours of community service yesterday as a result of not paying child support. Tuesday's court hearing was scheduled to bring Rodman in to face the accusations of contempt of court due to his failure to pay child support. Rodman is scheduled to return to court on June 22nd to review how much he is in arrears. The attorney for Rodman's ex, Michelle, claims that he owes back child support to the tune of $750,000 but Rodman's attorney, Linnea Willis, believes it to be a much lower figure. Orange County Superior Court Commissioner Barry Michaelson gave the order of community service and Willis confirmed that Rodman also received three years of informal probation. Willis said Rodman, 51, intends to dedicate his hours of community service to "at-risk youth." Rodman and his third wife, Michelle, share two children. According to the media, court paperwork filed back in March indicated that Rodman's attorney claimed that he was broke and unable to pay more than he was currently paying at the time. Rodman says he is not broke and his attorney says that he is now up to date on his $4,500 per month child support payments.
