Chelsea to sign one of the best youngsters in Europe: Eden Hazard
Lille midfielder Eden Hazard has been wanted by many of Europe's biggest clubs but he looks set to sign for Chelsea this summer after announcing he is joining the "Champions League winner". The 21-year-old attacking midfielder had reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United, with the Citizens being quite keen on getting him. The Belgian wonder-kid is reportedly heading to Stamford Bridge on a five-year deal for a fee said to be around 32 million pounds. Hazard wrote on his personal Twitter account: "I'm signing for the Champions League winner." The midfielder, who is currently on international duty with Belgium and is expected to face England on Saturday, has used the social network to release details of his transfer during the past few weeks. Chelsea declined to comment on any move though. The club issued a brief statement saying: "As with all transfers, when we have something to announce, we will announce it in the usual way." Hazard made his Lille debut as a 16-year-old in November 2007 and has grabbed 26 caps for the Belgian national side since then.He was also named 2012 Player of the Year in France, becoming only the second player in French football history to win that award two years running. And that came after he picked up consecutive Young Player of the Year awards in 2009 and 2010. Lille won their first league championship since 1954 in 2011 with Hazard's help and he will surely be missed in the French championship. He is a quick and technically gifted midfielder, with quite a bit of experience for his age considering he already has five full top-flight seasons in France under his belt.
