Manchester City pulled off a stunning fightback to claim their first Premier League title after no less than 44 years. Sir Alex Ferguson, the man in charge at United, congratulated City on their achievement but didn't miss the oportunity to congratulate his players as well. “I congratulate City on winning the league, it's not an easy week to win it. Anyone who wins it deserves it. I'm pleased with the performance this season, 89 points would have been enough in most seasons. It wasn't our turn today”, Ferguson said. Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham will take part in next season's Champions League, while Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves are relegated to the Championship. Newcastle will represent England in the Europa League, alongside Carling Cup winners Liverpool and FA Cup winners Chelsea.
