New ARJEL Licenses and Repeals
French regulator publishes new decisions The latest decisions announced by French online gaming regulatory authority ARJEL involve a number of licensing awards and repeals. One of them is for Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) which has been licensed to offer its horse race betting and sports betting software; the other is BetClic which saw its sports betting software licensed. Less fortunate was the Nation Traffic SAS, which will stop offering sports betting due to low profitability of its operations, so ARJEL had to repeal its license on the company's own request. In addition, ARJEL specified that it has amended its list of competition categories and types of results that can be used by sports betting operators, so that it now includes the hockey, ice hockey, basketball and athletics categories. It has also been announced by the regulator that it will be initiating proceedings for sanctions against an unidentified, certified operator.
