Big African football tournament to be covered by national lottery
The latest innovation to be introduced into the offering of Loterie National de Cote d'Ivoir (LONACI), the Ivory Coast's exclusive gambling operator, involves an Advanced Betting Platform, provided by French National lottery operator La Française Des Jeux's (FDJ) sports book software subsidiary LVS.
The sportsbook titled CASHNET, will be launched in time for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations football tournament – in the first phase in 80 retail shops, and within the next year in 2 000 terminals.
In addition, thanks to its partnership with Morpho and Lotsys, LVS will offer a comprehensive multi-channel solution across internet, mobile and retail through one single engine in future phases, which will encompass the integration of existing lottery games and pari-mutuel horse racing.
It has been also specified that LONACI will start with the launch of football betting, but that it plans to enlarge its sports offering in the near future.
In a comment on the deal, Simon Ordish, chief executive officer of LVS, said: “When an organization such as LONACI trusts LVS over many of the other major sportsbook suppliers in the market it is a huge compliment to our product and team. We are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with LONACI.”
