Gambling group partners with digital news outlet The Global Herald The latest news from the UK online and land gambling group William Hill plc include a sponsorship deal with online news outlet The Global Herald. The deal, which became effective on Jan. 10, includes provisions for sponsorship of the Global Herald's flagship Sports section, and it involves a range of advertising and promotional opportunities, such as the placement of William Hill branding within all pages of The Global Herald Sport. According to Robin Scott, a director at the parent company behind The Global Herald, 24 Hour Trading Ltd, “We are delighted to welcome William Hill as sponsor of The Global Herald sports section and recognise the commitment of the bookmaker to supporting sport globally, in particular football. “This deal complements William Hill's existing sponsorship as 'Official Betting Partner' of The FA Cup; a partnership with the Scottish Football Association; and sponsorship of the Scottish Cup. “As the market grows weary of pay-per-click and impressions advertising, digital brand marketing and sponsorships such as this one are re-emerging as a preferred method of reaching customers, allowing brands to align with appropriate audiences and content.”
