Another Executive Leaves Betfair
Wass expected a top job position The latest news from Betfair are that the company's chief commercial officer Niall Wass has left the betting exchange. The reasons behind this decision are believed to lie behind the fact that Wass was one of the major candidates for the position of CEO at the company and felt being overlooked when the exchange decided to appoint Paddy Power's chief operating officer Breon Corcoran to the position. Reportedly, Wass will be joining a short-term loan provider Wonga in the role of chief operating officer. According to an unnamed Betfair spokesperson, "Niall played a key role in bringing Betfair to where it stands today and we wish him every success in the future." In addition, the CEO of Wass' new company, Errol Damelin, said in a statement: "I'm delighted to welcome Niall on board and he will be a real asset as we continue to build a world-class consumer and technology business."
