Racing Winter Carnival Sponsorship Renewed

Blue Square to continue sponsoring the carnival An announcement arrived this week from online sports betting operator Blue Square that it has extended its sponsorship deal with Arena Leisure's Winter Carnival, which will once again feature the popular Blue Square Sprint Series, held every Saturday at Lingfield during January and February. This time, the deal will cover all flat racing meetings at Lingfield, Southwell and Wolverhampton. It has also been specified that the series, which features a Grand Prix style points system rewarding runners, riders and trainers down to sixth place, includes seven rounds of six furlong sprints and has a range of Class 5 and Class 6 qualifying rounds and the Grand Final, which will be held on Saturday 25th February. Entries for the opening qualifier on Saturday 7th January will close on Tuesday 2nd January. According to Richard Jaques, Blue Square PR and Sponsorship Manager, “We were delighted with the inaugural Blue Square Winter Carnival and Blue Square Sprint Series. It's great for racegoers to follow a series and see the same horses coming back each week to take each other on.”
