Update: New Jersey to Vote on Sports Betting
November 8 – D day for legalization of sports betting in the US state It's not long before New Jersey voters will go out to vote in a public ballot whether they are pro or against legalized sports betting in the state. So far, recent polls indicate that most of them will vote for the proposal, and thereby free the way for politicians like Sen. Ray Lesniak to go ahead with his plans to overturn the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act at federal level, which earlier this year failed. Lesniak has indeed indicated that he does plan to push the bill through the state legislature and see it before the governor before the end of the current legislative season. However, it's all still up to the November 8 vote, and if it does go in favor of legalized sports betting, Lesniak will enjoy the support of the casino operators in Atlantic City.
