Digital Sports Media Company Closes Deal with Times Internet Limited

Indian football fans to get connected to English Premier League

A new deal emerged in the betting market this week as a major digital sports media company, PERFORM, closed a partnership deal with Indian internet media firm Times Internet Limited (IndiaTimes) through which Indian football fans should get connected with England's Barclays Premier League, whose highlights will be presented across both the online and mobile portals of Times Internet Limited.

In addition, IndiaTimes portals and PERFORM's embeddable sports VOD platform ePlayer will feature website clips will, and the advertising inventory will be sold by both parties. The deal also implies exclusive rights for the Indiatimes 58888 mobile site to display clips and related content, which will thereby become available via a range of Indiatimes branded mobile portals on telecom partners within India.

According to Rishi Khiani, CEO, Times Internet Limited, "Given the growing popularity of football, especially England's Barclays Premier League, in India, this is a strategic content partnership for us. Couple this with the growth of fans accessing sport via connected devices and our reach in the Indian market, we are poised to capitalize on these trends whilst simultaneously providing our readers and advertising partners with exciting new sport content."

In addition, his counterpart from PERFORM, Oliver Slipper, said: "The Indian market provides a hugely exciting opportunity and we are delighted to be partnering with such an influential publisher. As we are seeing in other markets, as networks improve and devices become more widely adopted, accessing sport video becomes the norm and with this comes commercialization opportunities which we are well placed to take advantage of."
