GTBets' origins still a mystery
It appears that the recent shutdown of US-facing online gambling sites VIP Sportsbook, BetGameDay and Nine had a positive effect on others, including a newcomer to the market, an internet sportsbook and casino branded GTBets.
The site appeared around the same time when the others closed up, in August 2011, and so far it has noted a great number of players transfer from the three closed sites. However, its origins are still not known. It has been reported recently that "...GTBets shares the VIP Sportsbook server, customer service numbers and website skin. In addition, players [were] forwarded marketing mailers which contained their VIP username and passwords."
Still, all connection with VIP, Nine and BetGameday was denied by VIP Sportsbook operations manager, who also confirmed that former employees are now working on the new site.
Yet, questions keep arising, so far without an answer. When an adequate explanation of the new site's origins will be provided, it remains to be seen.
