Rugby Sponsorship Agreement for Betdaq

Deal to cover season 2011/12 The latest news from the Irish online betting exchange Betdaq involve a new sponsorship deal with the London Irish Rugby Club, whose official betting and gaming partner it will be throughout the 2011/12 season. The deal implies that the betting company will provide unique online betting services, including bespoke offers, the odds on matches and innovative bets on other sporting events, and in return its logo will appear on the back of the first team's jerseys for all Aviva Premiership games and Heineken Cup matches, and it will receive significant in-stadium promotion during home games. In regards to the deal, Betdaq marketing director Shane McLaughlin said: “Our sponsorship of London Irish will help us reach new audiences in a growing market. The rugby club has a very large supporter base worldwide and there are a number of similarities between the brands, not least the Irish connection. The imminent timing of the Rugby World Cup makes this agreement particularly exciting.” In addition, Richard Marsh, the commercial director of the rugby club opined: “Through this partnership we are looking forward to working with Shane and his team on engaging with our supporter base in new and innovative ways. The strength of the club's profile and its ambition has stood us in good stead in attracting new money to the sport in the build up to this coming season.”
