US Open Bans Online Gambling

Anti-corruption and player betting bans in force The US Open has begun this week, and everyone seems to be ready for an exciting tennis competition. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is no exception, and this week it reported that it has taken precautionary measures to prevent corruption and improper player betting by blocking access to betting-related websites at the National Tennis Centre grounds during the competition. According to a spokesperson from the USTA, all domestic and international sites on computer networks in the players' lounge and media centre will be censored. In addition, the association handed out a memorandum to credential holders, warning them that their tournament passes will be suspended if the Uniform Tennis Anti-Corruption Code is found to have been violated.
