OpenBet Closes Supply Deal with Sportsbet

Sportsbet to get sportsbook software and platform

The latest deal in the online gambling market has been closed between Irish bookmaker Paddy Power's Australian-focused online betting website Sportsbet and major software provider OpenBet. According to the deal, the recently relaunched Sportsbet and IASbet sites will be powered by OpenBet sportsbook software.

It has been specified that the choice fell on OpenBet, which has had a relationship with Paddy Power for the past decade, because of 'the quality of its sportsbook, the flexibility of the platform, and its ability to ensure compliance with the requirements of differing jurisdictions'.

The features that Sportsbet will now have access to include the centralised OpenBet Account giving a single view of every customer and their betting activity across multiple channels including mobile enabling tailored promotions and effective marketing capabilities, as well as the latest versions of OpenBet's Trading Interface and Telebet II browser-based application and the integration of LiveOdds that allows customers to enjoy live betting via the call centre.

According to OpenBet Ltd COO Jeremy Thompson-Hill, 'We were very pleased to be given the task by Paddy Power to centralize and standardize Sportsbet's sports-betting offering. Having worked with Paddy Power for ten years, we view this as a positive endorsement of the quality of our sportsbook platform.'

On the other side, Cormac Barry, CEO of Sportsbet, said; 'Choosing OpenBet to update and migrate our Australian operations was the obvious option. With OpenBet's unrivalled sportsbook and expertise together with that of Paddy Power, it has allowed us to supercharge the development of Sportsbet and provide a scalable platform that will continue to drive the business forward.'
