Ladbrokes Makes Major Marketing Investment

GBP50 million invested into new strategy

It has been reported this week that the UK land and online gambling group Ladbrokes is planning an innovation strategy, including a marketing investment of GBP50 million, which will serve to rebuild the company's above-the-line advertising in order to position Ladbrokes as an innovative bookmaker.

This move obviously implied certain changes, as well, as the company also changed advertising agency, moving its GBP8 million ad account out of M&C Saatchi and into SapientNitro.

It was specified by Ladbrokes CEO Richard Glynn earlier this year: 'We realise it is imperative to strengthen our capabilities in areas such as sportsbook, technology and online marketing.'
