Update: Field Trial for Leroy’s Android App in Nevada

Feb 24, 2011
Approval leads to expansion Based on a recent statement issued by the American Wagering Inc. (AWI), its subsidiary Leroy's received an approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) allowing its sports betting application for the Android platform to begin a field trial immediately, thus enabling further expansion of the company into the fast-growing smartphone industry. According to Leroy's, the fact that it received approval for mobile sports betting by the state of Nevada last September and approval from the NGCB to release Leroy's App for BlackBerry to users in Nevada in December 2010, means that it is the first licensed gaming company to enter the mobile wagering sector in the United States. The users of this new application will have at their disposal a full range of sports events, in-game betting, propositions, and contests. "The addition of the Android platform to our mobile wagering product is a significant step forward in our strategic plan to become the clear leader in the mobile gaming sector,” said Bob Kocienski, American Wagering Inc COO. "The new field trial authorized by the Nevada regulators for the Android platform gives the Company two of the four major platforms to distribute the LEROY'S® APP© and we are rapidly striving to be on the iPhone, Windows 7, and tablets such as BlackBerry's Playbook and Apple's iPad as part of our new development path. "This is the start of a new era in sports betting and our customers can expect to see great things ahead as we move further into the future," he concluded. Apart from Leroy's Horse and Sports Place Inc. American Wagering, Inc. also operates Computerized Bookmaking Systems, Inc., AWI Manufacturing, Inc., and AWI Gaming, Inc.
