Two Executive Board Appointments Announced by Sportech PLC

Positive results expected by pool and tote operator following the appointments Sportech PLC, successful supplier and operator of pool and tote gaming, has announced that Roger Withers and Peter Williams will assume two executive board appointments this week. Roger Withers is appointed as non-executive chairman as he has worked on senior positions in the international leisure and gaming sector with Ladbrokes, Bass and Arena Leisure. He also holds a position of non-executive Chairman of gaming software and content provider Playtech Ltd, owner of a 10 percent share in Sportech. Peter Williams has been appointed as senior independent non-executive director, being a qualified accountant with significant experience on senior positions with EMI Group, JJP Sports, Alpha Airports, Selfridges and Capital Radio. In addition, the operator announced that John Barnes, acting non-executive chairman will resume his previous role as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect. "These are significant appointments to the Sportech Board, adding substantial strength of experience and relationships across the international gaming and leisure arena in which the Group now operates while further strengthening its independence," Barnes said commenting on the recent developments.
