Companies close a six figure deal The Irish betting exchange BETDAQ this week announced that it has inked a six-figure, year-long agreement with the UK's Kempton Park Racecourse, according to which BETDAQ will support midweek Flat racing on the all-weather floodlit racetrack, and also sponsor 176 races over the next year. The agreement also envisages that a ground floor bar facility will be named after the betting exchange and that its account holders will be granted a complimentary entry to Wednesday night fixtures throughout the deal. According to Kempton Park managing director Amy Starkey: “We are delighted to have come to this agreement with a high profile betting exchange in BETDAQ which is demonstrating its continuing commitment to British horse racing, and we look forward to an ongoing partnership.” It was also stated by her BETDAQ counterpart Shane McLaughlin: “BETDAQ has been a consistent supporter of British horse racing throughout our 10 year history and we are delighted to continue that support with this sponsorship.” A somewhat similar report came from the Australian media, which are informing of a case of online betting and gaming firm Centrebet being poised to receive naming rights to the Australian Rugby League Club Penrith Panthers stadium. There has been a lot of criticism and opposition to the proposal to rename the stadium to Centrebet Stadium, especially in the Penrith Council and other anti-gambling lobbyists. A statement coming from Penrith Council General Manager Alan Stoneham confirmed that the Council strongly disagrees with the club's decision and the club has been informed of the disagreement, even though it does not require naming rights approval from the council.
