Betfair and Racing New South Wales to Meet in Court?

Betfair's relations with NSW Racing officials get worse The latest news from the Aussie media recently reported a serious decline in the relations between online betting exchange Betfair and Racing New South Wales. According to the reports, the racing body has resented the supposed statements made by Betfair's Australian chief, Andrew Twaits, following litigation earlier this year. According to Racing NSW CEO Peter V'Landy, the organisation's legal representatives have sent a note to Twaits required an apology and a retraction of comments he is alleged to have made regarding race field payment arrangements between Racing NSW, Tabcorp and members of the Tabcorp group, which they consider to be defamation. However, he added that no response has come from Twaits yet. He also said that this drove the organization to take measures in order to "....stop him making wild accusations and to accept the Federal Court decision that has twice gone against Betfair.” Twaits, on the other side, is still at the same position, challenging Racing NSW to sue him, reported the media. “They can either sue me and have the facts tested under oath and cross-examination or publicly state which of my comments are wrong and why,” Twaits is reported to have said.
