Belgian Horseracing Market gets a new member This week was marked by an announcement made by Phillippe Germond, CEO of the French Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) and the Minister of Budget of Wallonie as well as Belgian horseracing industry representatives, regarding the deal which will provide Belgian residents with a chance to bet on French races within the next few weeks. Based on the deal, PMU is going through with its plan to spread its activities to foreign countries, and this time it will partially finance the Belgian horseracing industry. The company stated that the French model which consists of financing the harness racing industry, should work in other countries, adding that their plans also include offering their services to the prevention of excessive gambling to the Belgian industry. Representatives from the French racing channel, Equidia, interlinked with the release, discussed the inclusion of TV feeds in one of Belgium's broadcast offerings.
