Further action applied
The Federal case against the owner of Wilkes-Barre Sports Bar, Patrick Patte Jr. who pleaded guilty last month to aiding and abetting the wire transmission of illegal gambling information, has taken new dimension as it is now going to bite him a second time with the possible revocation of his pub license.
According to Patte's plea agreement, he is supposed to pay $ 100,000 in order to prevent the building that houses both his residence and business from being seized by the Federal Government due to its role in the gambling case. His sentence will be pronounced at the beginning of 2011.
However, in addition to this, the State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has filed charges which could lead to additional fines, and/or license suspension or revocation based on Patte's guilty plea, since the Bureau announced that it will oppose the renewal of the bar's license.
