New Aussie Interactive TV Betting Service Now Live

TAB Active available to punters on a subscription basis A deal signed between the giant Australian betting giant TAB and technology company Two Way Limited earlier this year came to fruition this week as the TAB Active betting service went live. Gamblers in the Australian states of Queensland and South Australia can now make use of this new interactive TV gambling service. The TAB Active platform, already up and running in the more populous states of Victoria and New South Wales, allows punters to place bets through home televisions via a subscription service. “The service is available to viewers of all three Sky Racing channels on the FoxTel and Optus television platforms,” a company spokesman said this week. “With the simple press of the red button, the service provides detailed information on all thoroughbred, harness and greyhound race meetings on which UNiTAB is conducting wagering on that day.” The service additionally informs viewers about the next race set to be broadcast by Sky Racing, where they can watch it and includes prominent on-screen responsible gambling messages. “This is the first time that our interactive television service has gone live outside New South Wales and Victoria,” said Ben Reichel, chief executive and md for Two Way. “We are very pleased to give UNiTAB customers in Queensland and South Australia a taste of this highly convenient and easy-to-use wagering service. “While we are frustrated with the extensive delays that we have experienced in offering the full betting service to UNiTAB customers, we are working patiently through the issues. We hope that punters in Queensland and South Australia will soon be able to enjoy the full service that is currently available to punters in New South Wales and Victoria and which will soon be available in Western Australia.”
