Couldn't be more glad than I am now for Degenkolb after what the guy had been through in the last couple of years, he gaved an emotional interview after the win, crying, well done to him.

It was a crazy stage the last one, almost like the classic race Paris-Rube, with almost half of the riders being involved in incidents.
Really sad to see Porte out, the guy has been so unlucky during the course of his career and now again...the race will definitely loose from his absence I think.

Finally the mountain stages comes tomorrow, it was about time for the real race to be started, I'm really exited for the next two weeks.

Julian Alaphilippe grabbed the first stage victory for France at the 2018 Tour today with a spectacular breakaway ride, while Greg Van Avermaet holds on to the yellow jersey after a very brave breakaway ride as well. The big GC contenders were not up for a fight today, maybe tomorrow...

However, some GC candidates found themselves in trouble on the last climb and lost quite a bit of time: Bob Jungels, Bauke Mollema, Ilnur Zakarin and Rafal Majka lost 51 seconds, while Rigoberto Uran lost more than 2 and a half minutes.

Today's stage 13 is a flat one, but most sprinters' teams are decimated after the three mountain stages and also most of the sprinters themselves have either retired or arrived outside the maximum time on yesterday's stage. The breakaway might go all the way today, here are the odds for stage 13 at NetBet:

Peter Sagan - 3.10
Arnaud Demare - 3.80
Alexander Kristoff - 10.00
Edvald Boasson Hagen - 13.00
Sonny Colbrelli - 17.00
John Degenkolb - 21.00
Maximiliano Richeze - 28.00
Christophe Laporte - 29.00
Magnus Cort Nielsen - 32.00
Greg Van Avermaet - 32.00
Jasper Stuyven - 33.00
Philippe Gilbert - 34.00
Nikias Arndt - 34.00
Thomas De Gendt - 41.00
Daryl Impey - 51.00

Stage 14 is a hilly one, the route is 188km long and it all ends with a very steep second-category climb: Col de la Croix Neuve, 3km at 10,2%. This should be ideal ground for the likes of Julian Alaphilippe or Alejandro Valverde, but their teams would have to work to keep the breakaway within reach. Here are the odds for stage 14 at NetBet:

Julian Alaphilippe - 3.80
Alejandro Valverde - 15.00
Rafal Majka - 15.00
Daniel Martin - 20.75
Warren Barguil - 21.00
Ion Izagirre - 23.00
Adam Yates - 26.00
Daryl Impey - 28.00
Omar Fraile - 28.00
Gorka Izagirre - 28.00
Geraint Thomas - 29.00
Lilian Calmejane - 29.00

Good luck!
