Here's another wacky video from a Brazilian soccer match, this time from a regional division. The game was between Guarani (at home) and Sergipe (away) and the visitors were leading 1-0 with just a few minutes remaining. The home side had a corner kick and they decided to send everybody upfront, including the goalkeeper.
But disaster struck, the away team got the ball and launched the counter attack, everything was set for an empty-netter...
... but a quick fan jumped from the stands and took the goalie's position and even managed to clear the ball off the line! :) The crowd was, obviously, roaring!
And now comes the best part: he did manage to save the goal! The referee couldn't have given Sergipe a goal, because the ball didn't go in! In such situations the rules say that play is resumed with a neutral ball in the midfield circle, or at least that's what I know.
Sergipe did win the game 1-0 though.
