The Banana Incident
« on: April 29, 2014, 09:39:07 AM »
Last weekend Barcelona's Brazilian defender Dani Alves, who is black, was about to take a corner kick during the match at Villarreal's El Madrigal Stadium when a banana landed on the pitch in front of him. That has happened before, some soccer fans thinks it's nice to be racist. The Brazil international picked it up, peeled it and ate some of it before throwing the rest aside.

The gesture spread like wildfire and several other athletes declared their support for Alves by photographing themselves eating bananas.

The sad thing is all this won't stop racism. I can't understand how racist people think, what logic drives them to believe that someone is inferior just because his or her skin is different.
