Something new on the tennis court
« on: June 18, 2012, 04:46:08 AM »
I've never seen anything like this: a player kicking an official on the tennis court during a game!

And it didn't happen in some obscure tournament, that happened during the final at Queens, a very important grass tournament before Wimbledon.

Here's what David Nalbandian did:

He was, obviously, disqualified. But he said he never meant to kick the official. And he apologized.

It didn't look like he intended to kick the official but disqualification was the only thing that could be done here.  What ever was the guy thinking.

Yes, I watched the match and it really didn't look like he did it on purpose. I just couldn't believe that a player with such an experience allowed himeslf to act like that. I can imagine some hot-headed beginner doing stupid things on the court.

they couldn't do anything other than to disqualifie him, sometimes you do things in a reflex, but this was not the place or the time for that................
