    His name is Appelt Martínez, from Uruguay, and he scored a great soccer goal, half-volley into the top corner of the net. Too bad it was his own net :)

     

     

    But since there are match fixing scandals around the world, that might lead you to think about whether his gesture was intentional or not. Was it?

    He didn't look particularly upset about it plus who was he kicking the ball away from? There were none of the other team within a reasonable distance of the ball.  Very odd or just reading too much into it?

    I think that if he wanted he would never score a goal like that. It was a fantastic goal and I'm just wondering if it was intentional though the fact is that he didn't look very upset, even relieved.
